If I Could Sing

A silly lil' love song I wrote back in the day

If I Could Sing

If I could sing and play guitar
I'd sing a song to you
from afar
I'd rain down praise
in waysto leave you dazed
It may be sappy
but baby
i'm amazed

I came
from such a scary place
Embittered and disgraced
But you've helped met
o brighten my dark days
And I thank you
in sentimental ways
I thought
that my trusting days were dead
These fears
residing in my head
You saved
the man I used to be
My thanks
this lovestruck poetry

But If I could sing and play guitar
I'd sing a song to you
from afar
I'd rain down praise
in ways
to leave you dazed
It may be sappy
but baby
i'm amazed

I'd lost
everything I never had
and yes
the story's really sad
But now
you've given all
that back
Picked me upand set me back
on track
And I thank
the good lord up above
For givin' me another chance at love
So I'm beggin'
down on bended knee
That some day
you'll see the girl I see
And you'll know
what you've really
given me
And you'll accept
my humble poetry

But
If I could sing and play guitar
I'd sing a song to you
from afar
I'd rain down praise
in ways
to leave you dazed
It may be sappy
but baby
i'm amazed
